ADT lane restrictions scheduled

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising Yuma drivers to plan ahead for lane closures on Araby Road (SR 195) beginning Monday, March 26 for pre-construction utility relocation work.

A utility contractor is scheduled to relocate the fiber-optic lines on northbound Araby Road between Interstate 8 and 32nd street as the ADT prepares for phase two construction of the I-8 and Araby Road traffic interchange improvement project.

Here’s what you should know:

Northbound Araby Road will be narrowed to one lane in the work zone from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Monday, March 26, through Friday, March 30. Both southbound lanes will remain open. A 12-foot vehicle-width restriction will be in place. Delays are possible, so motorists should consider using alternate routes. Drivers should slow down, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
