Local high school cancelled Tuesday due to threat

According to the Yuma Union High School District, Gila Ridge High School is canceling all classes and events Tuesday due to a threat made against the school.

The Yuma Police Department is actively investigating the threat. The school district is working with Yuma Police to provide assistance.

YUHSD Superintendent Gina Thompson said, “Our number one priority without question is the safety of our students and staff. In a situation like this, we are going to take every precaution to ensure that.”

Yuma Police and Yuma Union High School District will release information when it becomes available.
