Authorities seek suspect involved in Somerton shooting

Somerton Police is seeking the suspect involved in the shooting that left two injured Thursday afternoon.

Authorities are looking for Somerton resident Raymundo Chairez Jr. who allegedly shot two young adults who suffered non-life threatening injuries. The incident happened at a water retention area at the intersection of Joshua Street and Columbia Avenue at 2:16 p.m. Thursday.

After firing shots at the victims, he fled the area in a 2010 light gray Dodge Charger with black stripes on the back, hood, and rear sides with the Arizona license plate 536913D.

The case remains under investigation by the Somerton Police Department Investigations Division. Anyone with any information concerning this investigation is asked to contact the Somerton Police Department at (928) 627-2011 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
