Woman injured in rollover accident

At 7:48 Monday morning the Somerton Cocopah Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle rollover at Avenue F and County 19½ St.

A 23-year-old female was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The vehicle’s sole occupant stated that she was southbound on Avenue F, on her way to work, when she became distracted. Her car caught the shoulder of the gravel road and she lost control causing her vehicle to roll over twice.

The vehicle landed in the front lawn of a home in the area.

The female driver self-extricated herself. She stated that she was wearing her seatbelt and did not lose consciousness.

Upon the arrival of the Somerton Cocopah Fire Department she was sitting on the porch of the home, complaining of pain to the right side of her ribcage. She was placed in a cervical collar and transported to YRMC non-emergency traffic for further observation.
