Somerton man arrested for child porn

New information tonight on a Somerton man who is behind bars for child pornography.

36 year-old Marco Antonio Castillo is being charged with possession of child pornography and sexual exploitation of a child. A few months ago the Somerton police department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children based out of Washington D.C. that Castillo was viewing hundreds of child porno-graphic images. Somerton detectives were able to secure a search warrant and arrived at the suspects residence on Thursday. Chief Cavender of Somerton Police Department gives details on the man’s whereabouts when arrested and what they found at his home.

“The gentleman, Marco Castillo, who i believe is 36 years old from Somerton was arrested a short time later at his place of employment, the Yuma Proving Ground, where i believe he is employed as an engineer there. They did see several items of electronic equipment from the house that is currently being held as evidence that will be forensically examined,” said Jeff Cavender, Chief of Somerton Police.

We reached out to YPG and found out that the suspect is not a government employee, but works for TRAX contracting company. Castillo is being held at a $200,000 cash bond at the Yuma county detention center.
