A man suspected of being connected to a homicide in Northern California was arrested by El Centro Police Department (ECPD) officers.
Bernardo Castillo, is suspected of stabbing a 49-year-old woman to death and wounding a 4-year-old girl in El Dorado County according to The Sacramento Bee.
Officers say they got information about a homicide that happened on June 13.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDCSO) sent out a state-wide alert to law enforcement agencies asking for help finding Castillo.
ECPD officers say they got phone call about a suspicious car parked in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Imperial Avenue, Thursday at around 10:30 a.m.
A security guard called police and said Castillo has been parked there since 1:30 a.m. and never got out of the car.
When officers got there, they contacted Castillo, who stated he had driven down from Sacramento. Officers say Castillo appeared nervous. During questioning, dispatchers told officers, Castillo’s car was wanted in connection to the homicide.
Castillo was booked at the Imperial County Jail for a no-bail arrest warrant issued by a judge in El Dorado County.
