PET TALK: Meet “Bryan” and “Hopalong”

In this special Memorial Day Edition of ‘Pet Talk,’ we meet two animals that have already made their debut on our segment, but are still in desperate need of finding their forever homes. So far, we have had ten pet talk segments, with 20 animals featured. Out of the 20, 11 have been adopted. In tonights edition, we want to re-introduce you to two animals that are still looking to be rescued.

First up is Bryan. A 4 year old, Black and White domestic Cat that has quite the personality. If you are a person that is looking for a treat loving, playful feline, Bryan is your guy. He was turned in by his owners for reasons that are unknown and would do best in a home where he is the only animal. He weighs about 10 pounds and is super fluffy; A long-haired Cat lovers dream. If you have been thinking about getting a Cat, Bryan would make for the perfect companion. He has been at the shelter for almost a month. Next up, we have Hopalong and the name says it all. Hopalong is an American pit bull mix, that is said to be around 8 years old. This dog is so special and truly deserves a chance at a happy and comfortable life. Hopalong was originally found off of Gila ridge road in Yuma, where an onlooker said he had been hit by a car. He was severely malnourished and had a shattered pelvis. His right hip is now displaced and that is why he “hops.” For such a devastating background, it is amazing that Hopalong is here with us today. He gets along with other dogs, however he can be selective, so it is important that whomever adopts him has a calm and quiet lifestyle with a yard where he can roam. He would make a great companion for a couple or a single individual. He has been at the shelter for over 100 days. If you are interested in either Bryan or Hopalong, please call the Humane Society of Yuma at (928) 782-1621. They are open Tuesday through Sunday.
