Woman found shot in Walmart parking lot

The Yuma Police Department is looking for at least one suspect following a shooting that injured a 25-year-old woman Monday.

YPD said they got the call at approximately 12:06 p.m., of a woman shot in the parking lot of Walmart, located at 2900 S. Pacific Avenue.

The investigation showed the woman left Walmart and was in the east side of the parking lot when a light colored four-door passenger car drove up.

According to YPD, the unidentified woman was with her boyfriend when the shooting occurred.

The victim is currently at Yuma Regional Medical Center listed in critical condition.

Officers said the only information they have at this time is the suspect vehicle. Officers said they have no suspect information or description at this time.

YPD said officers are reviewing surveillance video outside the Walmart to gather more details on the shooting.

YPD said officers and detectives don’t believe the crime was gang-related.
