Motorcyclist dies in fatal collision

The Yuma Police Department is investigating a vehicle collision that left a motorcyclist dead.

Officers say the incident occurred on Friday, December 2, around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Ocotillo Lane near the Big Curve Shopping Center.

The initial investigation revealed a silver Chevrolet pickup, driven by a 72 – year – old male, exited the private driveway of a mobile home park and collided with a white BMW motorcycle which was traveling northbound on Fourth Avenue. The rider of the motorcycle, a 41 – year-old male was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained life – threatening injuries. The Yuma Fire Department transported him to Yuma Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
