How you can support Crossroads Mission during Turkey Drive

News 11 hopes to collect 1000 turkeys during its annual Turkey Drive on Wednesday, November 16 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Stop by the Wal-Mart on Pacific Ave. in Yuma to drop off your Turkey or other donation.

The Crossroads Mission serves more than 400 hot meals everyday. They expect to serve over 4,000 meals during “The 3-Days of Thanksgiving” and over 32,000 meals in the months of November and December.

Here is a list of items you can donate:

MEATS: Ground beef, roast beef, pork, chicken, ham, turkey

CANNED GOODS: Mixed veggies, corn, green beans, potatoes, carrots, chili beans, tomato sauce/diced, spaghetti sauce, nacho cheese, fruit cocktail, pears, peaches, pineapple

FRESH VEGGIES: Onion, celery, lettuce, zucchini, cabbage, potatoes, bell peppers, garlic, tomatoes

SEASONINGS: Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, lemon pepper, meat tenderizer (unseasoned), chicken bouillon

EXTRAS: Eggs, milk, butter, flour, cooking oil, sugar, pancake mix, syrup, rice, beans, pasta, cake mix, oatmeal, peanut butter, jelly

FOR THE SHELTERS: Shampoo, soap, lotion, razors, tooth brushes, tooth paste, feminine products, toilet paper, laundry detergent, socks- all sizes, underwear- all sizes.

Donations can be dropped off 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
