Plancarte said being district supervisor is part of his life-long committment to I.V.

Newly elected Imperial County District 2 Supervisor Luis Plancarte said this new responsibility is just one more step in his commitment to serve the community.

Luis Plancarte won during the November elections the only available Imperial County District 2 Supervisor seat, which was left by Jack Terrazas. Plancarte said it was Terrazas who first got him involved in serving the community when he was barely 14 years old.

“There are some issues that everybody in the community agree need to be addressed. Everything from the infrastructure, the roads, protecting our water, the restoration of the Salton Sea,” Plancarte said.

District 2 represents the communities of El Centro, Heber and Ocotillo. It includes the area from Heber to the international border east of Dogwood road. Luis Plancarte and Cheryl Viegas-Walker were the two candidates for the Imperial County District 2 Supervisor seat.
