Yuma residents share thoughts and feelings on Trump’s victory

A night that had many Americans at the edge of their seat ended with a victory for the Republican Party.

Donald Trump’s win over Hillary Clinton is being called a ‘surprising upset’ by national networks like CNN.

Meanwhile, in Yuma County, residents are still unsure what to expect for future of the U.S.

“Just a little nervous about everything that might happen,” said one Yuma resident.

Another resident said, “I think it’s a good change, I think Hillary is embedded with the standard political system and we need change.”

Less than 24 hours after Trump was elected president, some people are trying to forget the election all together.

“What election?,” asked a man, with a dash of sarcasm, when asked what he thought of the presidential election results.

Though some are making light of the situation, others don’t really know how to feel about the outcome just yet.

“I don’t know, I think it’s sort of a ‘let’s wait and see what happens’,” said a woman who visits Yuma during the winter.
