Your last minute local voting details

Yuma County elections officials are expecting an exciting turn out for Election Day. They say nearly half the ballots sent out have already been returned.

“It was so easy, I am so glad they have this available,” said Sherri Swift. Swift submitted an early voting ballot at the County Recorder’s office on Friday afternoon.

The County Recorder’s office will be open during special hours on Saturday and Sunday for voters who won’t be able to vote on Tuesday. The office is located at 410 S. Maiden Lane. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

Voters who have their early voting ballots can also drop them off at any of the four drop-off boxes in the county. They are located at:

1. City of San Luis City Hall

2. City of San Luis County Library

3. Somerton Heritage Pool

4. Yuma County Recorder’s Office

*Ballots received after 7 p.m. on Tuesday will not be counted. The last day to mail ballots is Friday, November 4th.

On Election Day, voters can visit one of 9 voting centers from 6 a.m. – 7p.m. They are located at:

1. Martin Luther King, Jr. Neighborhood Center- 300 S. 13th Avenue

2. Yuma County Health Department- 2200 W. 28th Street, Yuma

3. MEGA CENTER- Yuma Civic Center- 1440 W. Desert Hills Drive, Yuma

4. Community Christian Church- 6480 E. Highway 95, Yuma

5. MEGA CENTER- St. John Neumann Catholic Church- 11545 E. 40th Street, Yuma

6. First Southern Baptist Church of Wellton- 11711 Williams Street, Wellton

7. Somerton Library- 240 Canal Street, Somerton

8. Cesar Chavez Cultural Center- 1015 N. Main Street, San Luis

9. San Luis City Hall- Multi-Use Room, 1090 E. Union Street, San Luis

The polls will be open between the hours of 7 am to 8 pm (PST) on Tuesday, November 8. The central counting place for counting ballots will be the Imperial County Elections Department 940 W. Main Street, Ste. 206 in El Centro.
