Locals celebrate Halloween at Safe and Scary Trick or Treat event

Hundreds of people made it to this year’s Safe and Scary Trick or Treat event at the Yuma Territorial Prison. The Halloween event was hosted by the Yuma Police Department on Monday, where families had the opportunity to come together and enjoy food, games and a “haunted” prison tour. Many children and adults alike attended the event in costume, and those who dressed up received free candy from volunteers. The event was held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Yuma Police Department officials said all proceeds funded at Monday night’s event will go towards supporting The Arizona Special Olympics.
