Two people injured in shooting

Police officers are investigating a drive-by shooting where two men were sent to the hospital with injuries.

The incident happened Wednesday night near Somerton Avenue and East Spring Street when someone shot a firearm 10 to 15 times hitting both men, according to Somerton Police Chief Benjamin Cotman.

Cotman says one of the men was shot in the torso and received surgery at Yuma Regional Medical Center. The other man was hit on one of his arms. Both men are in stable condition.
