SR 98 closed for repairs in Imperial Valley

Cal-Trans maintenance crews will close State Route 98 between S-2 (Imperial Highway) and Drew Road for a pavement preservation project.

The closure is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m to ensure that the pavement materials set properly, according to a press release issued by Cal-Trans Monday morning.

Drivers in the area will be detoured to State Route 111 and Dogwood Road.

Officials say flaggers will help residents entering and exiting the areas near the project.

Drivers can expect delays and are reminded to slow down while driving through the highway work zones.
