Candidate’s campaign signs vandalized

Sandy Kamei’s Campaign team says her Candidate for Board of Supervisors District 3 signs were vandalized overnight.

The signs were tagged with racial slurs. One read, “No Japs.” Kamei’s picture is also crossed out on the signs while another has the democratic donkey symbol also crossed out.

Kamei’s team says they have an idea of who may have caused the damage but they don’t think it was her opponent, Darren Simmons.

The team says they found three signs total. One they found tagged Thursday night and the other two early Friday morning. The signs were located in the Foothills on Frontage Road.

For now, Kamei’s team says they want to move forward, though they say they may file a report with the Sheriff’s Office.
