District 5 Candidates vie for Yuma County Board of Supervisors

Yuma County district 5 residents are set to decide on their next Board of Supervisors member.

Voters will be deciding between democratic choice, Lynne Pancrazi, and republican nominee Connie Uribe.

Lynne Pancrazi was a school teacher for 28 years. After retiring, Pancrazi served as a state representative and later as a state senator.

“My experience at the legislature is going to help me be able to relate to those legislators. They will have af ace, and a name, and a person that they recognize bidding for the county supervisors, ” said Pancrazi.

If elected Pancrazi says she’s going to focus on job creation and battling ozone regulations.

“95 percent of the ozone that is here in Yuma County is produced elsewhere so part of the job is going to be in working with our state and federal legislators, and helping them understand that we need a pass,” said Pancrazi.

Connie Uribe’s background includes 33 years in a private medical practice. Uribe says during her service as a doctor, she was able to serve on several occasions as a delegate to the Arizona Medical Association.

As a board member, Uribe says she would focus on helping businesses by limiting big government.

“We have to do something to stop these business closures and it’s all because of regulation, so many regulations. Even the contractors have trouble building houses because it’s just one thing after another, ” said Uribe.

Supporting the local military and helping farmers is another big priority for Uribe.
