YPD to host car seat check next weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Yuma Police Department (YPD) is hosting a free car seat check next weekend for the city of Yuma.

People can come stop by the police station and receive help properly installing the car seat from certified child passenger safety technicians.

People can also come by if they have any questions or if their car seat is up to date.

YPD said the event is important to keep the children safe especially with the recent car accidents in Yuma this week.

"It's just reassurance. It's for peace of mind for your child whether traveling, everything. Everyone's seen all the car accidents lately. It's for a piece of mind to make sure your kids are safe," Ofc. Hayato Johnson with YPD said.

The event is from 7-10 a.m. next Saturday. For more information, click here
