1967 Ford Galaxie 500 winner announced
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Sunday marks the third and final day of the 32nd Annual Midnight at the Oasis.
While attendees got the chance to look at the classic cars one last time, Caballeros de Yuma hosted an awards brunch, where entrants learned whose car earned the top honors.
During the brunch, the organization announced the winner of the 1967 Ford Galaxie 500: Randy Chavez, a Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) retiree.
KYMA spoke to Chavez and asked him his reaction to winning the Galaxie: "Very fortunate. Very lucky. In the past, I've come in...I've always gotten a few tickets and of course, nothing. So, I wasn't expecting to win this time until I got the phone call [Sunday] morning."
Also during the brunch, Caballeros de Yuma unveiled the car that will be raffled off at next year's Midnight at the Oasis: A 1975 Plymouth Duster.
The event lasted until 1:00 p.m.
