YUHSD hosting recruitment events for migrant education

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Union High School District (YUHSD) is holding events for students who qualify for the Migrant Education Program (MEP).

Locals can visit the YUHSD District Office to determine if their student qualifies for the MEP.

"Attending these appointments is necessary to ensure migrant students continue receiving the support they need,” YUHSD Migrant School Community Liaison Isabel Montez said. “Our goal is to remove barriers so they can focus on their education and future."

MEP offer support including free backpacks, classroom supplies, paying class fees, access to dental and vision coverage, and more.

The following are dates for the events:

April

  • Thursday, April 10
  • Friday, April 11
  • Thursday, April 24
  • Friday, April 25

May

  • Monday, May 5
  • Friday, May 9
  • Thursday, May 15
  • Friday, May 16
