Darline Graham projected as winner of South Carolina Senate runoff election

(CBS, KYMA) - The Senate race in South Carolina is now set as CBS News projects Darline Graham, sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), has defeated Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.) to replace her brother as the Republican nominee for Senate.

Graham got a big boost ahead of the special run-off election with President Donald Trump hitting the stump with her late last week.

Graham was appointed to fill the remainder of her brother's current term after he died suddenly in July.

Now, she's vying to win her first full Senate term.

"I continue to miss Lindsay every day, and there is still a big hole in my heart, but I know he's looking down right now, very proud of everyone in this room," Graham expressed.

Graham will face Democrat Annie Andrews in November.
