Arizona physicians worried about Rep. Andy Biggs’ stance on healthcare

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA) - With Rep. Andy Biggs' getting the Republican nomination for governor, Arizona physicians say they're concerned about his stance on healthcare and how it could impact the state. 

In 2025, Rep. Biggs voted to cut medicaid as part of President Donald Trump's Big Beautiful Bill.

Three Arizona physicians gathered Thursday for a press conference held by the "Committee to Protect HealthCare Organization."

They shared their concerns if Biggs were to be elected as the state's next governor.

Dr. Danielle Allen-Herried, a doctor of OB/GYN had this to say:

"Unfortunately, Congressman Biggs has spent years trying to insert politics in some of these most personal moments of my patients' lives. He's consistently opposed abortion access and supported effort efforts to b to ban abortion nationwide."

A spokesperson for Biggs' campaign has issued the following statement:

"Under Katie Hobbs, Arizona's Medicaid system has been a disaster and a breeding ground for fraudulent spending and the exploitation of Arizonans. Congressman Biggs voted for substantive and badly needed reforms in the Working Families Tax Cut package that gets Medicaid dollars to the Arizonans who need it most instead of to those who would abuse our system."
