President Trump to read Bible verse in Oval Office

(CNN, KYMA) - President Donald Trump is set to take part in a weeklong public Bible reading event called America Reads The Bible.

Organizers say President Trump will deliver a video message from the Oval Office Tuesday, reading from Second Chronicles, Chapter Seven.

The appearance comes after a recent back-and-forth with Pope Leo over Iran, and days after Trump posted, then deleted, an AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus.

The passage includes the oft-quoted verse about humbling oneself, praying, and seeking God's forgiveness and healing for the land.

Organizers say several administration officials will join the president.
