Planned Parenthood holds conference on abortion and LGBTQ+ rights rollback
PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona held a press conference in Phoenix Tuesday morning.
According to the organization, the press conference was to "condemn the numerous anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ+ rights bills that have been advanced through both legislative chambers and are likely soon headed to final floor votes."
Erika Mach, Chief External Affairs Officer at Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona, State Representative Stephanie Stahl Hamilton (D-District 21), and State Senator Analise Ortiz (D-District 24) participated in the press conference, according to the organization.
The organization says the "four anti-abortion bills" undermine Proposition 139, also known as Arizona for Abortion Access, which "voters overwhelmingly supported in November" and was enshrined in the state consitution.
During the press conference, the organization says they called on Governor Katie Hobbs to "veto any and all anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation that is sent to her desk."
