Mark Kelly releases first 2020 campaign ad
Ad introduces Arizonans to former Shuttle Commander
PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Democratic Senate candidate Mark Kelly's first campaign ad of the 2020 election cycle hit airwaves Thursday.
The minute-long ad introduces the retired astronaut to Arizona's voters. The spot provides insight into Kelly's past, and allows him to discuss his family's history of public service.
Kelly tweeted out the ad Thursday morning.
If you told me when I was 16 that I’d reach my dream of being a Navy pilot and astronaut, I wouldn’t have believed you. Now, my hope for Arizona is that everybody gets a chance to achieve their own American dream. pic.twitter.com/FB3dC91Vq6

Kelly is married to former U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords, but he himself is a political newcomer.
His first campaign ad comes just one week after his opponent, Sen. Martha McSally, (R) Arizona, released a spot attacking him for supporting the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
Recent reports shows Kelly with a significant lead over McSally in fundraising ahead of November's general election.
