Train crashes into garbage truck in South Carolina

KINGSTREE, S.C. (CBS, KYMA) - CCTV footage shows the moment an Amtrak train slammed into a garbage truck in Kingstree, South Carolina Wednesday.

The Williamsburg County Fire Department (WCFD) said they responded to reports of a crash off North Williamsburg County Highway just before 10:30 a.m. Eastern.

Video shared by Kingstree Auction Company shows the moment of the collision, as the truck attempted to cross the tracks.

"The driver of the garbage truck was able to get out of the truck on his own with minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation," WCFD said on Facebook. "No injuries were reported by the passengers and crew on the train."
