Texas church bus crashed, sixteen people got hurt

HARRIS COUNTY, Tex. (NBC) - At least one person sustained critical injuries when a church bus flipped over in Texas Sunday.

For further context, the crash happened near an apartment complex on Uvalde Road around noon.

According to a church representative, over a dozen people were onboard; all are members of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Uvalde.

Overall, sixteen people sustained injuries, including thirteen children.

Fourteen of those individuals went to area hospitals, with at least one is in critical condition.

Authorities say the driver of the bus was speeding around a curve, causing the bus to crash.

The driver was not injured and did not show any signs of being intoxicated or under the influence.

The crash is under investigation.
