Plane crash occurred in Mesa, pilot survives

MESA, Ariz. (NBC) - A small plane crashed into a canal in Mesa, AZ.

Equally important, the pilot was able to get out of the plane by themselves.

Authorities say the single-engine Cessna went down in mesa just after 7:30 A.M.

Furthermore, the FAA confirms the pilot was the only one on board, and they were able to get themselves out of the plane.

So far, there's no word what went wrong.

As of now, the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating.
