FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Sweltering temperatures ahead as Imperial Valley deals with wind advisory

KYMA

Increasing temps over the 110 degree mark are on the way along with more breezy days

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Near to slightly above normal temperatures will persist across the region through this week.

A weather disturbance moving across the western United States will deliver enhanced winds through midweek, with Imperial County seeing the strongest winds today and then spreading into south-central AZ Tuesday and Wednesday.

The gusty winds in combination with the very dry air will result in critical fire weather conditions on Tuesday and possibly through Wednesday.

Hotter conditions are forecast beginning late this week and continuing through this weekend when more widespread highs of 110-115 degrees are forecast.
