States around the country hold final Pride celebrations

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - With Pride month coming to an end next Saturday, many members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies are continuing to celebrate with festivals and events across the nation this weekend.

In San Francisco, California, the world's largest Pride flag was turned on to welcome all for Pride Weekend. The laser rainbow is more than four miles long. Thousands of people marched for transgender rights. The theme for this year's event was "Looking back and moving forward."

In Nashville, Tennessee, thousands of people gathered on broadway to watch this year's annual Pride Parade. The 90-minute procession featured motorcycles, marching bands, drag queens, and politicians, including State Representative Justin Jones of the Tennessee Three.

In Minneapolis, Minnesota, First Lady Jill Biden spoke at a Pride festival, where she said her husband's administration will fight for LGBTQ rights.

"We know there are those who wish to undo the hard-won progress this community has made. And tomorrow we will brave those battles once again together. Joe stands with you now and he will stand with you forever," Biden spoke.

The First Lady also added, "I'm here on behalf of Joe and Kamala and Doug to say loud and clear that you belong. That you are beautiful. And that you are loved."
