NBC 11 Sports: More Region honors recognized on the diamond, another Kofa wrestler meets Tempe

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - Many stars on the diamond from Kofa and Yuma baseball are recognized in the spring sports All-Region honors, resulting in double-digit 1st Team awards between the two teams.

Plus, the next Kofa wrestler to take his talent to the Division I level is Arturo Anaya after deciding to walk-on at Arizona State alongside his teammate Damian Moreno. Anaya's commitment on the mat and in the classroom landed him an academic scholarship that ultimately turned into continuing his wrestling journey even further.

Meanwhile, Arizona Western College and former Gila Ridge Hawk softball star, Tinley Schmidgall, was named to the 1st Team NJCAA All-American list. Schmidgall becomes the first Lady Matador to earn All-American honors since 2019.
