Suns guard Devin Booker out for at least four weeks with groin injury
Booker headed back to Phoenix for evaluation while team continues road trip
PHOENIX, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - Tough news out of the valley of the sun as the Phoenix Suns have learned that All-Star Devin Booker will have to watch from the sidelines for the next month or more.
The Suns confirmed that Booker has suffered a left groin strain and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Booker has been sidelined in six of the last nine games due to hamstring and groin ailments. He tried to return for the team's Christmas Day game in Denver, but only played four minutes before leaving, appearing to re-aggravate the groin injury.
The Suns went on to lose in overtime 128-125.
Phoenix now 20-15, loses their go-to scorer as he has been for several years, leading the team to back-to-back 50-plus win seasons, including the NBA Finals run in the 2020-21 season.
Booker is averaging 27.1 points per game and 5.6 assists a little less than halfway through the season.
