Gradually warming up for Christmas weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Quiet and dry weather will persist through the holiday weekend.

A strong high pressure dominates our region, which will warm our temperatures where highs are still expected to reach slightly above-normal later this week.

Even though afternoon highs will be warmer for the season overnight lows will still remain pretty cold.

Make sure to layer up in the morning as lows are still trending in the low 40s and even upper 30s.

To start the winter season tomorrow we will see plenty of sunshine with warmer-than-normal temperatures.

The biggest weather impact for the Desert Southwest this week is a warming trend, where Sunday and Monday are expected to reach the mid and upper 70s.
