FIRST ALERT FORECAST: A wet start to the week, but things expected to dry up soon
Rain making its way through the Desert Southwest on Monday, but a much drier week is ahead
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A strong winter storm that brought widespread rain and higher elevation snow this morning is expected to continue to impact the area for the next few days. A second weak weather disturbance is expected to bring scattered showers tonight/early Tuesday as it moves across the region. As colder air moves in across the forecast area, expect snow levels to drop to 3500 feet, with areas north and east of Phoenix transitioning from rain to snow tonight. The coldest temperatures of the season will settle in behind this system, with freezing temperatures a threat across the lower deserts Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Below normal temperatures are expected to persist into this upcoming weekend.
