District One Schools celebrate Student Growth and Achievement

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - On October 31, 2022, the Arizona State Board of Education released the 2021-22 A-F School Letter Grades for all public schools statewide.

With this in mind, Yuma School District One proudly recognize the student growth and achievement reflected in the letter grades.

The "A" Letter Grade

Firstly, the Yuma School District One congratulates the following schools who received the "A" grade:

  • Desert Mesa Elementary
  • Dorothy Hall Elementary
  • James D. Price Elementary
  • James B. Rolle Elementary
  • Sunrise Elementary

The "B" Letter Grade

Secondly, the Yuma School District One congratulates the following schools who received the "B" grade:

  • Alice Byrne Elementary
  • G.W. Carver Elementary
  • C.W. McGraw Elementary
  • OC Johnson Elementary
  • Mary A. Otondo Elementary
  • Palmcroft Elementary
  • Pecan Grove Elementary

Moreover, other school districts, like District One Middle Schools, achieved significant growth and improvement.

More specifically, Fourth Avenue Junior High School celebrates an astounding 60% improvement.

District One Superintendent responds

To emphasize the grades, James Sheldahl, District One Superintendent, states:

“I am extremely proud of the unwavering dedication of teachers, students and parents who have worked hard so our students can succeed. Through targeted instruction, rigorous curriculum, and a supportive learning environment, our students continue to receive the personalized learning they need to be successful.”
