Dept. of Justice releases statement on protecting voting rights

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Department of Justice released a statement on federal efforts to protect voting rights.

Not only that, they will prohibit intimidation, discrimination, and fraud in the November 8 election.

In addition, they expect deputy sheriffs and police officers will be on the front line to ensure qualified voters are able to vote free of intimidation.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Arizona will be watching as well.

They mention that they have several election threat-related cases pending federal felony charges.

Also, they said that they will vigorously safeguard all Arizonans' rights to freely and lawfully cast their vote during the election.
