El Centro issues a declaration of emergency due to recent storm

The storm on Oct. 15 caused damages in Imperial County
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - According to a press release, at the City Council meeting held on October 18, the Director of Emergency Services issued a local emergency due to the storm damages in El Centro.
Damages were caused by a storm event that happened on October 15 that resulted in water intrusion and damage to important infrastructure to which the Fire Department and other City staff responded to.
Such infrastructure that was damaged is the City's sewer, water and drainage systems, roads, rights of way, power and light poles, public safety facilities and etc. said the press release.
The El Centro Regional Medical Center also had damages, according to the press release.
The City of El Centro says the storm event created conditions that are likely to be beyond the control of the services, personnel and equipment of the City.
