NYC Broadway dims to honor Angela Lansbury

NEW YORK, New York (NBC) - Broadway theaters in New York City dimmed their lights on Saturday in memory of Angela Lansbury.

Lansbury passed away on October 11 at the age of 96.

The six-time Tony Award recipient's career spanned six decades on Broadway.

The Committee of Theater owners arranged to dim the lights of Broadway theaters in New York City for one minute at exactly 7:45 pm.

Speaking about Lansbury's legacy, Charlotte St. Martin, President of the Broadway League, noted that she "was without a doubt one of Broadway's most endearing leading actresses."

Adding that "Her influence in the world of musical theater will forever live on."

Lansbury's acting credits include "Hotel Paradiso," "Sweeney Todd," "Murder, She Wrote" and Gore Vidal's "The Best Man."
