SR-78 lane closures near Glamis begin Monday

MGN

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Caltrans maintenance crews will close State Route 78 (SR-78) near the community of Glamis.

Straightaway, pavement work starts from Gecko Road to Ted Kipt Road, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

In addition, work will continue through mid-November. East and westbound SR-78 will turn to a single open lane.

While a pilot vehicle will escort motorists one direction at a time, both lanes on the highway will not close.

Furthermore, expect traffic delays up to 10 minutes, depending on traffic queues. Caltrans advise motorists to allow additional travel time to get to their destinations.

Additionally, the construction schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other construction reasons.
