Ohio scrap yard caught on fire Saturday afternoon

WEST CAROLLTON, Ohio (NBC) - A scrap yard pile caught fire at an Ohio recycling center on Saturday.

Reported at around 12:30pm, the fire broke out at Cohen Recycling Metal Shredders in West Carrollton.

The blaze burned for several hours, prompting a response from several fire departments.

Large plumes of smoke were visible from several miles away.

Fortunately, there was no one at Cohen when the fire occurred. However, officials said some employees came to the scene to help operate equipment.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
