Tacos and Tunes holds a big comeback in Downtown Yuma

City of Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - On Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 10:00am to 9:00pm, the City of Yuma and their sponsors hosts Tacos and Tunes.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, they mostly stuck to small groups of people attending events like Tacos and Tunes.

However, thanks to low COVID numbers, Tacos and Tunes is coming back in big way.

"People have been anxious for quite awhile, and now that we're getting into good weather, and this is kind of our regular season of great events. This is kind of kicks it off," Yuma Mayor Douglas Nicholls spoke.

While there is food, beverages, live entertainment, and so on to enjoy, there is also a judging contest. For further context, the judging contest determines who makes the best tacos in Yuma.

Not only that, the judging contest is open to anyone who signed up. KYMA's news director and very own Mercedes Martinez are there participating in the judging contest.

In addition, shops in Downtown Yuma remains open throughout the festivities.

Lastly, parking is open to the public. However, a shuttle service is available between Downtown Yuma and Paradise Casino.

So, go on out and enjoy the festivities on Main Street with your family and friends.
