Brawley Cattle Call Rodeo Queen two day event
Brawley cattle Call Rodeo Queen event will be a two day event that you wont want to miss.
BRAWLEY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - One of the most waited events is finally here and it's a two-day event. The event starts on Friday, October 7 at the Brawley Cattle Call rodeo 7:00 p.m. and the following day at 10:00 a.m.
For 65 years the Brawley Cattle call has continued to bring the best of the west to Imperial County. The two-day event started with a rodeo and the coronation of the cattle queen the following day.
During the rodeo the girls competing will get to ride their horses and give a spectacular performance.
The girls who are competing have been preparing since May. From horseback riding, public speaking and learning about western style.
" I have been riding my horse almost everyday, I have been taking multiple lessons a week, keeping legged up and I’ve also been trying to be a better public speaker," said Amaris Rothfleisch, 2022 teen queen contestant.
To have this event every year is very important to the girls who are competing.
“It is very important because the horse community I feel like it has been kinda downsizing so we go out and encourage people to see what it's like," said Rylee Locher, 2021 Brawley Call queen.
These event and the sport of rodeo is not only to showcase the western style but to bring the whole community together.
“Our village takes all kinds... it takes everybody to kind of make this all work and to me that is the most proud about is that we all just come together we get a lot of community support and we just all come together” "I think it's important for people to understand that anybody can live the western life style and we welcome people," said Dana Mendoza, Royal Cattle Queen Association President.
