YFD makes selection for Asst. Chief of Operations

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Following the appointment of Dustin "Dusty" Fields as Yuma Fire Department (YFD) Chief, a selection process for Assistant Chief began.

Soon after, the YFD is proud to announce that they have selected John Louser for Assistant Chief of Operations.

Louser's background

Before his promotion, Louser has served with the YFD since 2003. He held positions of Firefighter/Paramedic, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Fire Engineer.

Not only that, Louser was a Fire Captain, Training Captain and Battalion Chief. Most recently, he served as Acting Assistant Chief.

During that time, he served under Fields when the latter became the Acting Fire Chief. Furthermore, Louser is both a Certified Public Manager and a Yuma native.

When asked about his promotion, Louser said:

“I appreciate the opportunity I have been given to serve the citizens of the City of Yuma and the Yuma Fire Department family."
