Family falls through ice of frozen lake

BIG BEAR, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Video captures the dramatic rescue of a family that fell through the ice of a lake Sunday.

It happened at Big Bear Lake, when the family of three fell into the freezing water.

The water was so cold it was difficult to move.

Thankfully, deputies arrived on scene in time. Video shows as they used a rope to pull the family to safety.

Inch by inch, the three were slowly dragged to safety.

The family reportedly refused any medical treatment.

Numerous signs surrounding the lake advise to stay off the ice. The father of the family was issued a citation.
