FDA says baby formula production exceeding demand
(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - The head of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration says there's "really good news" in the baby formula shortage.
Commissioner Robert Califf says formula production is now exceeding consumer demand.
The news came in his testimony before a Senate Subcommittee Wednesday.
He said even though there's now a "robust pipeline" of formula coming in, the shortages will continue to take some time to fix.
However, he did not give an updated timeline on when the shortages would ultimately be resolved.
