Temperatures are heating back up

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Today we will be warmer than what we felt yesterday with winds still staying light and calm with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures are on the rise as we are just one day away until the excessive heat returns.

Today's the first day for the Monsoon Season and looking at our current drought, Yuma still remains in the extreme category. Let's hope for a wet 2022 Monsoon season, Yuma's average rainfall is 1-inch.

Hotter temperatures will return tomorrow as an Excessive Heat Warning will go into effect from 10 AM until 8 PM Thursday (TOMORROW) for temperatures expected to hit 107-113 degrees.

Make sure we are properly preparing for the heat and put these heat safety tips in action to stay safe during the dangerously hot conditions.
