Ohio-based company opens facility in Yuma
There’s a new business in town that will bring dozens of jobs into the area.
Wednesday, MPW and Porta Kleen unveiled a 30,000 square-foot facility just east of Interstate 8 and Frontage Road.
The facility sits on eight acres of land near the Foothills.
MPW is a family-owned water treatment business headquartered in Ohio.
It services power plants and paper mills across the west coast.
The dual facility houses the water treatment site as well as Porta Kleen, often recognized for its port-a-potties.
Porta Kleen also outsources mobile trailers with showers, laundry rooms, and even locker-rooms for industrial and hospitality events.
Jared Black is a second-generation President of MPW.
He said the company was thinking about long term growth and Yuma was the perfect spot for their next venture.
” We did a search across the west coast and looked in California, Nevada, Utah, and throughout Arizona. Yuma had the right community, the right resources with water, people, demographics, [and] aggressive community members to help us get here, ” Black told News 11.
As for jobs, Black estimates there will be upward of 50 to 70 open positions.
He expects the facility to be running full speed by mid-November.
