Police activity near Steven Street in Brawley

BRAWLEY, Calif (KYMA, KECY) - We have received word of heavy police activity near Steven Street in Brawley.
Multiple police cars with their sirens on were seen by residents on the street.
The officers were responding to a report of a man attacking his wife with a knife.
The woman was found outside of the residence and was flown out to a hospital to receive care for the injuries sustained.
Officers spoke to the suspect over the phone as he held his adult-aged daughter hostage inside the home.
The man threatened to harm his daughter if police entered the home.
Imperial County Sheriff's Office and Border Patrol tactical teams negotiated with the suspect and the man eventually surrendered.
His daughter was unharmed.
He is pending attempted murder charges.
