UPDATE: Man killed in Yuma officer-involved shooting

Officers respond to burglary, lethal forced used

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Police Department (YPD) officers blocked off a home on 5th Avenue and W 9th Street after responding to an alleged burglary Tuesday afternoon, where officers say they fatally shot a man who refused to drop his weapon.

At about 1:07 p.m. officers were called in reference to a burglary. Upon arriving, they saw a 34-year-old man who was armed with a machete.

Officers said they used lethal force on the man after he refused to comply and the man was pronounced dead on scene.
